When it comes to my city, newcomers should know about a few things: weather, people, and politics. In regards to the weather, you will never get used to summer, regardless of how many people tell you you will. For the people, you may have mixed experiences. mind your own business and other people will mind theirs. Politics will be a tricky issue anywhere you travel, but in the south, things can become hectic. You may come across individuals that don’t just like 1950s fashion, but 1950s morals as well. Bowling Green is a very red (republican) place, but never be afraid to speak your voice with pride.

We are home to the corvette, and car shows are a big deal. Being in the south requires you to adjust to high temperatures, quiet nights, and humid days. Please don’t forget to bring your fishing pole, hunting gear, and four wheeler. Then you will fit right in with problems at all.

Bowling Green is a growing city with small town charm. There is an amazing university with a beautiful campus. Bowling Green is also home to an international center, which contributes to the diversity of the city’s population. Bowling Green has an incredible local restaurant scene that thrives on the farm-to-table movement, making this a great place to do some culinary exploration.

Hosting a collection of immigrants and college students, Bowling Green is a place with a very wide variety of people coming from many places in the world. Some people may have problems with this, but I find it to be a very delightful experience. It opens up the opportunity to get to know so many types of people. This, plus plenty of outdoor parks and recreation centers, makes Bowling Green a city that will always hold a special place in my heart.
