The town of Santa Cruz is forever expanding, a bustling daytime hub where many people from nearby villages converge to access banking, shopping, government services, and schools. There is lots of traffic during the day and at peak hours, but it becomes almost lifeless after 8 pm when the majority of the population retreats to their smaller villages and communities on the outskirts. Life in these small attached communities varies, from upscale neighborhoods with visiting owners to warm, close-knit rural communities buzzing with laughter and music at corner shops, churches, lounges, and in people’s front yards.
