Orlando is a tourist haven. There are several theme parks within miles from where I live. Also, the beach is only about an hour away. There are plenty of entertainment options to keep busy. The downfall to living in a city thriving with tourism is the unrealistic facade and horrible traffic.

Orlando is an interesting city. There are so much land that spans great distances considered “Orlando,” but the neighborhoods are all very different. Before choosing an area of town to live, I recommend spending time at local restaurants, walk around local parks, and make determinations based on such experiences and how the neighborhood feels to you. Not all of Orlando revolves around “the mouse” or chain restaurants, the city has much to offer that is not included in a typical vacation brochure, and is a wonderful place.

The city government does a great job at ensuring that there are enough recycle bins and trash cans so that residents can properly dispose of their waste in a healthy way. That is very important to ensure that residents and visitors have a pleasant experience as they take in the many restaurants, parks, concerts or plays. There is much to do outside of theme parks. There are more golf courses than any other United States city, over 100 parks to enjoy, the largest public library in the stats of Florida, an alligator park and the world’s largest McDonald’s.

The City Beautiful is very active, with bikers, runner, pet owners, and boot camps all around the city. The city has noticed this trend, because there are a number of healthy food options all around the city along with more people starting gardens, juicing, meditating, and talking about mental health.

Anyone visiting Orlando will need to visit both Disney World and Universal Studios. These two are some of the greatest theme parks in the US and a lot of fun for both parents and kids of all ages. You could visit the theme parks during the day and then head over to Universal City Walk or Disney Springs at night!

Orlando, in central Florida, receives a great amount of heat. The beach, however, is not too far away. Some beaches are around an hour and 30 minutes away. Apart from the heat, Orlando is an amusing place. Many tourists love visiting the city, and here are located the major amusement parks such as Universal Studios. Orlando has a lively, fun feel to it, and the diverse people are friendly.

Orlando is home to both, Disney, and Universal theme parks, and therefore has a big influx of tourists throughout the year. I would not really recommend it as a holiday destination for older couples, or people looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. For people looking to play golf, Orlando is home to some great courses, and with year-round sunny weather it’s ideal for a golfing getaway.

When moving to Orlando, the first thing you should understand are the tourists. They are everywhere and they congest the highways and the theme parks.
