He/She must know that Butuan City is the timber city of the south, by which it means the city is abundant with trees and logs. It should also be known that the city is a floating city, in which most building should not exceed 4 floors so that the city wouldn’t drown from constant flooding.

If you are looking for a city that is quite well known and is constantly changing, then Butuan City is the right place for you. The city is ever-expanding, and it is reflected on the numerous projects the local government is implementing. Mega malls like SM and Robinsons can be seen in this city, there are also talks of having an Ayala. The city also offers a wide array of restaurants and cafes. However, the downtown part of the city is prone to flood. living in Butuan isn’t so bad once you get used to it.

Moving to Butuan City is a interesting decision to make. While it is the capital of the province of Agusan del Norte, it really isn’t the best city to go to. The city itself is below sea-level, so expect a lot of flooding during the rainy seasons. The city’s commerce is still developing, despite the neighboring cities already being more developed than Butuan, but it is showing a little bit of promise, especially with the construction of an SM Mall right at the heart of the city.
