During the day, you can walk around, but take care not to have anything precious or ostentatious on you. At night, you really shouldn’t go out on foot, but only get around by car (at worst by taxi) and go to known places. One of the must-sees in Antananarivo is the Queen’s Palace (Rova of Manjakamiadana). Antananarivo is quite viable for an expatriate job and a French community lives there permanently.
Antananarivo is not a very big city but it is ours. In the center on a mountain there is the Rova, the former home of the Merina monarchy. At the bottom there is the stadium of Mahamasina and the lake anosy. Further, there is the avenue of independence. 67Ha which is further west of the city is the most popular district. Going southwest you will find the Anosibe market.
