Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas. It is also home to the infamous Little Rock Central High School. Central High school gained notoriety in the 1950s from the segregation of the High School. During this time national attention was put on the school and the national guard was brought in to aid in the segregation of said school. The participants became known as The Little Rock Nine.
Little Rock, Arkansas, although being the largest city in the state, is a small city with a population of just under 200,000 people. In the heart of the natural state, there are plenty of gorgeous camping sites and river walks. There are several institutions of higher learning and dozens of magnet schools. It’s a lovely blend of city life and country beauty.
