You can fish, boat, paddleboard, or kayak in Weeks Bay and the adjoining Fish and Magnolia Rivers. Less than a 40 minute drive will get you to the Gulf of Mexico beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. And I can’t fail to mention the inland either. The southern area of Fairhope is home to many horse farms housing either polo ponies or show steeds. In the fall, there is an annual charity polo match that raises money for cancer research. The downtown is a treasure trove of galleries and shops offering a unique shopping experience boasting eclectic to designer clothing, classic home goods and antiques, to local artist wares.

Fairhope has always been an artistic haven and has progressively expanded on that. It boasts an Art Center that can be rented out for private functions, an outdoor bay bluff amphitheater as well as several local community performing arts theaters. There is an annual spectacular Arts and Crafts Festival that draws exhibitors from all over the country in the Spring that is set up and occupies the streets of downtown for 3 days.

Someone moving to Fairhope, AL, should know whenever it is raining here, there is not much to do. Fairhope is a beautiful town and has many fun things to do outside. People enjoy walking downtown, swimming in the bay, and watching sunsets. However, Fairhope is still a small town at the end of the day and it does not have the type of scene that big cities have.
