Vonore is home to the Fort Loudon National Park and The Sequoyah Birthplace Museum. These two monuments are the staple of Vonore’s past and our heritage, as it is in the same Smokey Mountains that the Cherokee tribes once called home. The Sequoyah Birthplace Museum holds not only holds information about the famous Sequoyah himself, but it also holds festivals to show how the Cherokee people lived and worked in the days of the nomadic tribes. Vonore is home to Fort Loudon, which was rebuilt in the same location as the original Fort. There, you can see and experience what it was like for the early settlers who called the fort home.
