Is Greensboro boring? Is it fun? How do people relax in their free time? From playing and watching live sports to listening to live music to volunteering, here's what six local experts had to say about things to do in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Greensboro is located in the central part of the state, with the mountains being at some points within several hours away to the west and the ocean several hours to the east. It is considered an ideal place to live. There are colleges and universities as well as sports arenas.

HELPFUL REPORT

Greensboro offers many things to see and do. There are gourmet restaurants, museums, breweries, and a great mixture of culture to be found here. The people are friendly and there are always fun events going on. It is a uniquely diverse city, unlike any place I have visited since living here.

Greensboro, in the Piedmont of North Carolina, is part of the Triad area, along with the cities of Winston-Salem and High Point. It was named after General Nathaniel Greene, the Revolutionary War hero who led American forces in the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Greensboro is also the birthplace of both First Lady Dolly Madison and author O. Henry. It is a terrific city for live music, and is the home of six colleges and universities.

Greensboro, North Carolina, is known for its historical sites and family based activities. It is home to an array of breweries and textile mills and being the location for one of the first lunch counter sit ins at Woolworth’s store that helped spark the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950’s.

Greensboro is a friendly city that will appeal to many audiences. The suburbs are family-friendly and the downtown has an active, upbeat energy that will appeal to young professionals. The city hosts many local, regional, national, and even international tournaments and competitions, so the tourism industry is strong. Additionally, many large companies, like Wrangler and Wayfair, are beginning to call Greensboro home!

Greensboro is one of the largest cities in North Carolina. The name “Greensboro,” honors the Revolutionary Soldier, Nathaniel Green. Throughout the city, there are numerous historical landmarks. Dolly Madison was a Greensboro native. A museum has artifacts depicting her life. The International Civil Rights Museum is housed in the famous Woolworth’s where four college students integrated the lunch counter. Greensboro is a diverse city that offers fun and interesting activities for everyone.
