High Point is the furniture capital of the world and holds the High Point Furniture Market twice a year. It is also the home of John Coltrane, the famous saxophonist. High Point is very central in the state, so there is great access to vacation spots, whether you want to travel east to the beaches or west to the mountains. The city contains a lot of attraction locations and shopping areas for visitors and residents.

Part of High Point’s charm is that it has a small-town feel—the population is only 114,000. Yet, there are strong international connections. In fact, High Point has been hailed as the “Furniture Capital of the World,” hosting semi-annual events that bring in furniture industry professionals from around the world. If you enjoy the coziness of an uncrowded town and an abundance of home-grown eateries but want to feel connected to something larger, High Point is a great choice!
