Things To Do in Galle, Southern

Many people think the south coast of Sri Lanka during the off season (April-Oct) is not worth visiting – choppy waves and bad weather, but this is totally not the case! Here are a few suggestions within 30 minutes of Galle town where you can swim safely all year round:
Dadalla – Due to coastal erosion, the gov has created an artificial ‘reef’ to reduce the damage; it also creates a perfect sea bathing spot safe from crashing waves
Unawatuna Jungle Beach
Unawatuna Main Beach (down Yaddehimulla Rd)
Hikkaduwa Main Beach
Galle Fort Lighthouse Beach
***Top Tip: Visit Boossa once a month, or once a week if you’re up to it – it’s one of the only beaches I’ve ever been to in the World that comes and goes with the tides; it will be different every time you visit!
