Historic walled town with many pubs and restaurants catering to the tourist crowd. Two good universities. Easy to get around on your bike. Generally flat. Very easy city to live in. Well connected to London on a fast train (although quite expensive). Expensive housing market both to buy and rent.

York is home to plenty of small shops, sweet cafés and local pubs that have a friendly, homey atmosphere. It is easy to fit in with the charming public and is a great place for new experiences. Summer weather is desirable gorgeous and plenty of parks and garden have beautiful scenery that make York an ideal place.

Generally, house prices in York are quite expensive, especially if you want to live in the centre. However, York is very small, and all the areas within the city boundaries are very nice. Don’t be afraid to live a bit further out to achieve a cheaper house price. I would recommend the Bootham area for nice houses and cheaper prices.
