Male city is a very crowded place. The roads are small and there is a lot of vehicles around. There are almost 540 thousand people living inside the city. The city is small compared to other cities in other countries. The airport is 15 minutes distance away from male located in another island.

The city I live is pretty crowded as a lot of people migrated from different islands to get jobs. Even though the city is crowded, it is peaceful. People are very friendly. The city is well developed as well. this place is very clean and pollution free and is also very beautiful.

I’m from Male, the capital of the Maldives. It is one of the smallest and most crowded cities of the world. Although Maldives is famous for its white sandy beaches and blue lagoons, you won’t get to experience that in Male. Its beaches are artificially made, roads are paved with bricks and mostly it’s a concrete jungle of buildings. There is a high traffic on the roads during day and night as well.

Male’ mostly as a sunny weather, therefore it is important to carry summer clothing. It is rarely cold so there isn’t much of a requirement for winter clothes as we don’t experience winter. It’s pretty sunny year-round. Male’ city is also known for its traditional mouth-watering cuisine, friendly neighbors and amazing weather.

This city is really congested so if you don’t like being around people then this is probably not a good place for you. Although, there are really nice places to visit and the restaurants are pretty good too. Also, there is a lot of parks and places in where you could just sit and enjoy the fresh air, but still the amount of people in this place might be a bit annoying.

I will highlight some of the important points to consider before moving here; First one mainly is the climate, Maldives is a Tropical country so the clothing you bring are essential. Secondly, the living rent is really high. Due to lack of space and congested city with over 100,000 people in a 3-4 km wide area, you should be expecting claustrophobia. And lastly I would sum up with non-availability of outdoor activities, no clubbing or partying. Maldives is a 100% Muslim country and prohibits drinking.

Male’ is a tiny island and the capital of Maldives. The whole island is surrounded by crystal clear water. Even though the island is a bit congested, it is the perfect place for someone who wants to enjoy the nature and who loves the ocean. The island consists of many local cafes and dining areas. You can enjoy the local food and international cuisines. Its an island city where the fun never ends. The island is connected to two different islands through a small bridge. Locals enjoy midnight drives between the islands. However, it might be difficult to find cheap accommodation and jobs but in the end it all depends on you and your capabilities.
