What are the fine dining options? What about the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants? Here's what two local experts had to say about restaurants and food trucks in Northampton, England.

The childhood home of Princess Diana and the centre of shoe-making in Britain, Northampton has changed greatly over the years. Yet, you can look upwards and appreciate the Georgian architecture, go for a decent cappuccino just inside the church at All Saints Bistro, and walk along Derngate to the former home of Wenman Joseph Bassett-Lowke, remodeled and decorated in Art Deco style by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Look out for these hidden gems.

The feel of the town is very similar to others. The surrounding areas and villages are incredibly pleasant places to be, and to potentially raise a family. Many of the villages have a community feel and are lovely places to live. The town centre has many different aspects which may be more suited to certain people depending on the type of person they are. For example, the restaurants, pubs and clubs may be more for extroverts, whereas an introvert probably would not enjoy the feel of busyness in the town.
