Be prepared to enjoy the picturesque and historic downtown, a basin surrounded by mountains (hills). Lovely Nostalgia offered. In Hot Springs, (named for the Springs that supply the mineral waters upon which the ‘Spa City’ was built) visit the bath houses offering a trip to the past with healing waters, many activities with nature, and….a large Casino/Race Track! Drug issues (and crime) are prevalent in Hot Springs. The parks areas near downtown are home for the homeless.

Hot Springs, Arkansas, is a small town with a big history. During summer and fall it’s a bustling tourist town, with people coming from all over to visit the lakes, nature trails, national park, and bathhouses. When it’s not tourist season though, it’s a beautiful and quiet town perfect for people from all walks of life.

One of our major attractions in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is our historic downtown district, which houses a row of bathhouses dating back to the 1920s. The fabulous Arlington Hotel was a prominent spot for the gangster Al Capone to hide out from law enforcement. There are a number of notable local businesses within the district as well; the Ohio Club is a popular hangout spot, the town-famous Wax Museum attracts a lot of tourists, and there’s even a hiking trail that leads to the Hot Springs Tower which overlooks most of the town and surrounding forest areas. Tourist season may get a bit frantic, but Hot Springs is a town with a historical treasure trove to discover and admire. Not to mention the quiet and quality country life one may enjoy.
