My city is known as the venice of the East. It is the most famous tourist place in India. It is also called as City of lakes as it has many beautiful lakes with scenic beauty. It is also rich in culture and heritage. People love visiting this place from all over the world. Fatehsagar, City Palace, Monsoon Palace etc. are the favourite tourist destinations.

Udaipur is a very alive city, with shades of cultural, historical and industrial type. Life here starts with simplicity and then blends with modernity. Wide spreads of forests which transmits ample of fresh air for healthy living. Lakes are the soul which knits the culture and the nature altogether here. Life here is multidimensional in a sense that it always connects to the roots.

Named as the most romantic spots in India by one of the British administrators, Udaipur is a famous tourist destination and is known for its history, culture, scenic locations, the Rajput-era palaces and the sophisticated lake system. Some of its famous tourist spots include the Mewari Pride City Palace, Sajjangarh Palace, Ambrai Ghat, Gangaur Ghat and Bagore Ki Haveli. You can get glimpses of the city in the movies like Dhadak, Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani, Goliyon ki Rasleela-Ram Leela. This city has its own charm and monsoons add to its beauty. To sum up this city, I would quote the Mughal Emperor: “Gar firdaus bar-rue zamin ast, hami asto, hamin asto, hamin ast” (If there is a heaven on earth, it’s here, it’s here, it’s here).

Udaipur is the city of lakes. The beauty of lakes and serene greenery is mesmerizing, hence the name ‘Venice of India’. One should visit the local handicraft section and City Palace to immerse themselves in the glorious history of Mewar. Udaipur is not just a city, it’s a dream, a wedding destination and an amalgamation of modern ideas with colourful culture.
