Anyone moving to or visiting Raleigh should definitely check out the Historic Oakwood neighborhood. It’s filled with gorgeous tree-lined streets and historic homes. Every year around the holidays there’s a home tour where you can go into some of the oldest houses in the area and learn more about local history. Oakwood is very safe and it’s a great place to go for walks. There’s a large historic cemetery and several small parks. North Person St. in Oakwood is also a fun place to visit with plenty of restaurants, a book shop, and a city farm.
