It’s a beautiful beach town with a strong German influence, architecturally and culturally. The local people are very friendly and helpful. It’s also a tourist town with lots of locally crafted sculptures available to tourists. Swakopmund offers day tours into the Namib desert with one of the oldest plants on planet Earth namely the Welwitschia plant.

One thing that the person should know is that, it is a very cold place. The weather can always change at any time. It can be hot at times. We do get a lot of dust and mist, because that is the place where the desert meets the ocean. It is a beautiful place.
