What is downtown like in in Portmore, St. Catherine?

The municipality of Portmore is a large and continually-expanding urban center within the parish of St. Catherine, which neighbors the parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew where the capital of Kingston is found. However, much to the chagrin of many of its residents, it is technically not designated as one of Jamaica’s cities. It may, however, be on track to one day achieving ‘city’ status due to the increasing levels of development; and many of the features one would expect a city to have are already present, or expected to soon appear In Portmore.
