Welcome to the city of kings and queens. Please keep to the left and find yourself a church or a bar, you’ll need it. Also zupco is not the name of a washing powder brand, it’s the name given to many hours spent commuting from one place to the next.

Bulawayo is the second capital of Zimbabwe. It is located in the southern part of the country. The city has a dry savanna climate and temperatures are usually around 30 °C in the summer. Most locals speak Ndebele but they are also quite fluent in English. Moving around the city is by public transport though it is unreliable at times, private cabs are also however available. There are quite a number of outdoor tourist attractions in Bulawayo and these include Chipangali animal orphanage, Matopos national parks.

Bulawayo is a very active city hence it is noisy and crowded with population of around two million people. Be ready to deal with high traffic during rush hours. The city has experienced a reduction in the crime rate however I encourage caution as the city is well known for public violence and robberies.
