Dekalb is a college town. It’s not the most luxurious place in the world but it has a great community. Northern Illinois University has a lot of history and is over 125 years old. The town is small but still finds ways to include theater and art. There is the Egyptian Theater that hosts live performances weekly and a theater troupe called stagecoach player that usually has a show every month.

My city is DeKalb, IL. It is an average sized town near Chicago, and has very little that someone may find interesting about it. That being said, there is a tank from World War Two in the middle of downtown, which is quite interesting. Beyond the tank, however, DeKalb has a plethora of bars and the occasional festival, though those are less interesting nuggets of information.

Once one has arrived in Dekalb, a majority of the land in the city is farmland. While there a lot of somewhat urban areas in the town, most of the area is taken up by fields. Farmers are very prominent throughout the city. If you are looking for fun things to do while living here, I recommend looking at other large cities close by, such as Naperville or Aurora.

DeKalb, Illinois, is a college town with a storied past. Many of the people in town are students. However, a large portion of the residents were born in DeKalb. All of them enjoying visiting the historic downtown in their spare time. DeKalb also has wonderful libraries and schools.
