Catania is a big metropolitan city in Sicily, it was founded by Greeks more than 2000 years ago and was furtherly colonized by various populations throughout the centuries, resulting in a mix of cultures which have influenced its cuisine, historic landmarks, language and so forth. In summer it can be very hot to live in.

In the summer the feelings and the natural environment are one of the best in the world. On the volcano Etna there are natural routes that allow you to see natural sky views. During the summer, there are a lot of Italian tourists that come for vacation. Out of 10 tourists 8, are Italian. There are a lot of luxurious hotels, with unique sky views, much appreciated by the tourists. There are a lot of things that don’t make sense and need to be fixed, like the economy.

Catania is the second-largest city in Sicily, Italy with around one million people. Catania is not international like Houston. This situation was caused by the Italian government that in the past focused every international event and industry in the north of Italy. Catania is rich in unique traditions and pieces of art. During the winter, one of the main events is “Sant’Agata” which is the festivity in honor of the saint agate that protects the city of Catania. This event is known all over the world and many tourists are coming from China and south Arabia.

Catania is at the bottom of the volcano Etna, famous because it is a heritage of Unesco and is a place where you can ski and see the Mediterranean Sea. Another aspect of Catania is food history. There are foods that you can find only in Catania and are typical of the place. Examples are arancini, cannoli, caponata, and many other typical foods. People are friendly and are very hospitable, make you feel that you are always at home in every situation.
