From buying a car to purchasing groceries to following the latest fashion trends, here's what three local experts had to say about shopping in Suffolk, Virginia.

There is a vast assortment of restaurants, mom and pop shops, and activities around the city. If one were to drive from Downtown Suffolk to Northern Suffolk, they would see the prevalent difference in people, places, and citylife. Suffolk is most known for Peanuts, as it is called the Peanut City. Every month, it hosts a Peanut Fest and a Peanut Fest Parade. Suffolk residents in High School have the opportunity to become Peanut Fest royalty each year. Suffolk schools also chose representatives from each high school to perform at the Peanut Fest.

HELPFUL REPORT

Before moving to Suffolk, know it floods. When it rains for more than a day, the rivers rise making most roads impassable. Main Street, where most shops are located, will be difficult, if not impossible to access. If you still decide to move here, it would be best to choose a home on high ground.

Suffolk is a very small town in Virginia. It is mostly wide open country roads. There is one main street that has multiple well known places to shop and restaurants to enjoy. Suffolk has a small town feel and is a great place to get away from big city life to enjoy a slower pace of life.
