Reisterstown is a small, but dense town where everyone knows everyone, which is unique. Even though Reisterstown is predominantly white, the community has a high Hispanic population, and therefore many smaller, family owned Latinx grocery stores, restaurants, and shops. In addition to this, there are other nationalities present on the main street, where plenty of the smaller shops are, including Russian, Indo-European, and Chinese. The diversified community brings a sense of belonging.

Reisterstown Sportsplex has a large indoor facility that holds an ice-skating rink and soccer field. Outdoors, there are baseball and football fields that the local teams play on, as well as playgrounds and places to grill food. It’s a community spot. Reisterstown has local restaurants that aren’t anywhere else. Whether you enjoy Italian, Salvadoran, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, or some Maryland crabs, there is a place. Within walking distance sits a family owned Latinx restaurants called El Paraiso. Everyone there is always warm and welcoming. People also like to gather at Reter’s Crabs for some classic Maryland crabs or crab cakes while catching up with friends and/or watching sports.
