The city of Leicester is known for its diversity that results in dozens of festivals that run throughout the year. It’s fair to say our city knows how to party. The Caribbean Carnival is said to be the largest in the UK after Notting Hill, but where we really have bragging rights is the way Leicester marks Diwali.

Leicester is a beautiful, multicultural city where at every corner, one can find a mosque, temple or church. The city unites in celebrating festivals of every religion and accepting cultures and traditions from across the world. Although it is not a big nor famous city, there is a lot of pride associated with our local football and rugby teams, respectively, the LCFC and the Leicester Tigers – the whole city can be heard cheering on game days!

Leicester is one of the most multicultural and diverse cities in the United Kingdom. The people are friendly and there are a number of family events held quite frequently throughout the city. The Leicester football team saw their dream come true in May 2016 when they won the odds of 5000-1 and were crowned Premier League Champions. One of the most famous bands in the UK, Kasabian, also has its roots in the city of Leicester. Besides this, Leicester also has a special Gospel choir representing the De Montfort University who were semi-finalists in the Britain’s Got Talent 2018 competition and who also won second place in the Gareth Malone’s: The Choir, 2016.
