Someone moving to Greenville should consider the weather, the cost of living, and their interest in the surrounding area. In the South the weather is hot and humid in summer, although winters are mild. Living in downtown Greenville is expensive, but if you are willing to drive a little bit the surrounding area has many reasonably-priced neighborhoods and the option of country living close to the city if so inclined. Greenville is a city with many things to do, however it is a small city and does not have the variety and culture of Charleston or near-by Charlotte, North Carolina. On the other hand, it offers easy access to the lakes and mountains for those who enjoy the outdoors. It’s size also makes it less intimidating to navigate for those unfamiliar with city living. It is a happy medium of the variety of the city with easy access to suburbs and nature.

Someone moving to Greenville should consider the proximity to the mountains. Although Greenville is a small city, it is close to many universities such as Clemson University and Furman University. Greenville downtown attracts tourists. Greenville is an excellent place to start a family or retire.
