The city, Lagos is the center of most activities, especially business in Nigeria. There is a lot of traffic in Lagos. The common language spoken is pidgin English. Most people come to Lagos as a means to start a business. Lagos is believed to be a no man’s land. Lagos is divided into two parts, the mainland and the island.
The diversity you will see in Lagos is astounding. There are many various tribes that live in Lagos and they all have their own language and style of dressing and cooking. There are also many people from different countries that live in Lagos. Lagos is hot there is practically sunshine all through the year. There are many attractions and cultural highlights. Most places are not touristy so you are guaranteed a more local authentic experience.
Lagos where I reside, is in the west coast of Africa. A visitor to Lagos must know the climate is temperate and as such one needs not pack thick clothing. Secondly even though the city is quite safe, some parts are not, consequently one should put safety first and be vary of nightlife especially. English is the official language spoken in Lagos Nigeria, consequently non English speakers should know this and engage the services of guides for ease of communication.
Lagos is the heart of Nigeria. It is a metropolitan city that served as the former capital of my country, Nigeria. Lagos is home to many fashion brands and musical acts. It is a buzzing city filled with an amazing nightlife, with a variety of night clubs. It is often termed the ‘hustle capital’ of Nigeria. Lagos is a Yoruba state, however, because of the large population the live here, English is widely spoken in Lagos. I love Lagos and it makes for a lovely destination for holiday.
He should expect noise, craziness and some other weird stuff which he has never experienced. He should also learn how to speak the native language which is Yoruba or pidgin English. He should be extra smart and able to endure the stress of Lagos. Although, it is quite an interesting place, especially the south which is known as the Island.
It’s a populous city with industrious people, both young and old. You get to meet different people from different tribes who have also come to look for greener pastures. You’ll get to learn different languages and eat any native meal of your choice. You’ll get to see different lakes and rivers.
Lagos is a very busy city so such person should be used to a busy environment, being social will be a plus. at least be good in English speaking, be ready for the harsh sunny whether, and spicy food. If you don’t like clustered houses, the island is recommended rather than the mainland. Finally and most importantly, be prepared for traffic.
