This small city (about 100,000 residents) is now known mostly for the University of Notre Dame. Real estate is inexpensive by US standards. The city once had a robust manufacturing economy, but that time has passed. South Bend is now part of the American “rust belt.”

South Bend is a small town, by most standards, but it is the largest in the area. With the neighboring city of Mishawaka nearby, the population of this area exceeds a quarter of a million. This means that there is a great deal to do here for entertainment. We have a 1920s era theater, several museums, and a multitude of universities in which to pursue higher learning. South Bend is a place full of wonder, considering how small it is.

While we are a large college town, there is not much to do. There are only a handful of hiking spots, only two dog parks, and our human parks are lacking. The cuisine isn’t anything special; we have mostly chain restaurants and barely any local ones.
