Is El Paso diverse? Do people from different ethnic groups get along? Here's what five local experts had to say about diversity, inclusivity, and racism in El Paso, Texas.

El Paso is an incredibly unique city. Situated directly on the Texas- Mexico border, it is rich in Mexican American culture and diversity. The people are exceptionally friendly, ready to accept all newcomers with open arms. El Paso is also home to Franklin Mountain State Park; providing ample opportunities for hiking and other outdoor activities.

El Paso is home to more than twenty museums and more than thirty historical sites, including the only jail that Billy the Kid ever broke into. El Paso is a diverse area that is made up of many races and cultures. Its is a community of people who are accepting and inclusive. El Paso is the sister city to Juarez, Mexico, and almost 100,000 people cross back and forth across the US-Mexico border daily for work and school. You hear a lot of Spanish being spoken in El Paso. The people in El Paso are friendly and the food is fantastic.

El Paso lies in the westernmost part of Texas. El Paso is a city of almost 700,000 people and is a diverse city in its people, its culture and its natural beauty. El Paso sits at the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains in the Chihuahuan Desert along the Rio Grande River and shares its border with Mexico. The desert is full of color in the spring with its blooming cacti, bird of paradise plants which attract many birds and butterflies, desert trees with beautiful yellow flowers and sage shrubs that bud purple flowers.

El Paso is at the west edge of Texas and like most Texas cities, it is unique in its own way. The metropolitan area is home to a very diverse population as it sits at the border of the United States and Mexico. Bordering Mexico, El Paso’s bi-national area offers a populous Hispanic heritage that carries special traditions in religious practices, arts and entertainment, and cultural expansion.

El Paso, Texas, is all about diversity. There are people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and races here. El Paso is a desert city that has more to offer than what meets the eye. The community is strong and thriving. The city center is a busy metropolitan area, but if you take a 30-minute drive to the north there are mountains and rural areas.
