Here's what two local experts had to say about prices and the cost of living in Friday Harbor, Washington.

A nice place to live if you are financially well-off. Being an island, everything is about 25% more expensive than the mainland. Ferry travel gets more expensive every year, and with the crush of summer tourists, is difficult and time consuming with a car. That said, we have a mild climate and low crime rate, clean air, and lots of wildlife.

HELPFUL REPORT

This town is on a small island forming part of the archipelago named The San Juan Islands. Access is by ferry, plane or boat. We are a tourist driven community, but many residents are retired with disposable income with both groups contributing immensely to the prosperity of businesses here.
