St. Pete is a beautiful small city that is still growing into itself. The area’s pre and post-pandemic housing boom has greatly surpassed its growth of amenities. St. Pete has a fantastic art district and a wonderful selection of museums and galleries, but is nearly void of a musical atmosphere. The restaurant culture averages a B rating and lacks imagination and diversity when it comes to national cuisines.

St. Petersburg is a vibrant city with a walkable downtown and an abundance of art, both indoors (in museums and galleries) and outdoors (as wall murals). It is a hub for craft breweries, casual restaurants, and food trucks. It’s outdoor Saturday Morning Market is the largest in the state, and it’s also a short drive to miles of well-maintained beaches.

Saint Petersburg is densely populated, covered in murals, and bustling with life, culture, and great food from all over the world. I would highly recommend living here, although there is a higher cost of living and a faster pace of life than one would expect from a Florida town. You should also know about the dangers of hurricane season and expect a longer, hotter summer than some people are used to.
