Things To Do in Whitehorse, Yukon

Be aware of bears and other wildlife within city limits. Carry bear spray and a bell when walking on trails. Try to hike in groups. Stay away from wildlife. Wildlife habituated to humans is dangerous. You may encounter foxes, bears, moose, coyotes, wolves and the odd caribou. Do not feed the wildlife.
You must love wilderness, as Whitehorse is called the city of wilderness. It’s Yukon’s capital and has a beautiful summer but be ready to face a cold, dark, gloomy winter for almost half the year. If you are an outdoor person, you might be able to keep busy even during wintertime, go ice fishing and looking out for the aurora borealis!
