If moving to Providence, RI, one must decide if they want to live on the East Side or West Side. The East side is much prettier, but is overrun with college students and has high rents. Many young professionals reside on the West Side, and there are many bars and restaurants.

If moving to Providence I must warn you about the hills, specifically the hills near RISD. At first they are terrible on your legs, but eventually you get used to it! Other than that, I think it’s a lovely tiny city that you can easily walk and/or bike around!

Prior to moving to Providence, RI one should note that although there are areas of the city that are very easy to navigate and walk to, it would be very beneficial to have a car or bike as a main form of transportation. However, there are great public transportation options such as the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus service. Providence is very historical and offers a great variety of authentic, delicious foods and experiences. For example, there is an area known as Federal Hill which is sometimes referred to as Little Italy. This area consists of Italian restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops, and more!

Providence is a rising food capital of the US, with an incredible array of new restaurants and bars opening downtown. Between Boston and New York, you can find great pizza right around the corner from world-known clam chowder. In addition to the food, Providence is home to a number of impressive universities including the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, which boast idyllic locations to enjoy the city skyline while enjoying your latest food find.

Providence, for a small city, has a lot to offer. The city has amazing restaurants parks, shops and hotels. It is a very multicultural city due to our many universities and tourism that we get in our warmer months. Providence may be small in size but has so much to offer.
