Marietta, GA is only about a ten minute drive from the heart of downtown Atlanta. This town also houses the new Atlanta Braves stadium. The stadium is in its own little village, so if you’re looking to eat or drink before enjoying a game, then this town is the right place for you.

If moving to Marietta, know the taxes in Cobb county have raised. This is based on that the Atlanta braves moved their stadium here. The Atlanta united soccer team also has a practice facility here. Gentrification is prevalent in the area, so there’s a lot of construction and opportunities for growth.

Living in Marietta, Georgia, has been one of the best residential experiences of my life. In the suburbs of Atlanta, Marietta has everything you could want in a suburban experience: diversity of population, a multitude of aesthetic and natural pursuits (from beautiful parks to local theater to museums and cultural locales), and the convenience of nearby shopping and daily routine activities. Its proximity to Atlanta itself also provides all the benefits of a large metropolitan center; we have professional sports (basketball, baseball, soccer, and things like the WNBA and the semi-professional lacrosse team), and the long and varied cultural and historical activities that permeate cities of this size — like New York. In fact, when a friend asked me about the best part of living down here, I said, “It’s like living in New York — but there aren’t any New Yorkers here!” which drew a laugh, even if it isn’t entirely true.
