After living abroad for several years in Asia and Europe, I am currently back in Nashville, TN, to be near my family. Nashville is most known for being the Country Music Capital of the World; in fact, the question I get most often about my hometown is whether or not I frequently see stars like Blake Shelton or Taylor Swift at the grocery store or walking down the street. In the last few year, Nashville has risen in such popularity that housing rates are comparable to rent in a much larger city. Nashville should be considered a good place to move if one wants to live in a growing city while still being within easy driving distance of incredible hiking, fishing and camping spots.

Nashville is ‘Music City’. It has the CM Music Festival. It is also the capital of the state of Tennessee. Nashville is a wonderful place to raise a family and a wonderful place. Vanderbilt University is in Nashville. I recommend that you tour downtown Nashville and visit the Farmer’s Market.

Nashville is a mixed bag of tourist traps and great local hideaways, so you have to know where to look. Lower Broadway and Downtown, the most famous places, are often packed with loud, annoying tourists and country music, which is fine for some. However, the real gems of the city are tucked away in the East Nashville and Midtown communities. you’ll find amazing, locally-owned coffee shops, comedy clubs, music venues, record stores, and more.
