Ambala is district headquarters of Ambala District of Haryana. It derives its name from “Amba Wala” (or mango village), which existed in its vicinity. Important Ambala attractions include Rang Mahal, Gurudwara Badshahi Bagh, Gurudwara Anandpur Sahib and Paget Park. Paget Park is a famous children’s park in northern fringes of the city. It is also frequented by morning and evening walkers. In the vicinity of this park you can come across remains of St John’s Cathedral, which is designed in Gothic style. Gurudwara Badshahi Bagh is dedicated to tenth and last Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
