Kuantan is not urban like the capital, but it is peaceful with a beautiful beach. It is the quintessential spot of the city and is the first destination of the flock of tourists. A handful of local people may come across as conservative and traditional however, they are friendly and helpful. It is quite easy to navigate around, as it is a relatively small city.

Typically, the people here can be quite sensitive to issues related to religion. Racial discrimination is not infrequent. However, it is a beautiful city, rich with culture. If one could tread lightly to not offend anyone, then Kuantan is a wonderful place. The people here are proud and sincere.
