Munford is a quiet, small town located on the western border of Tennessee. There is a lot of Civil War history along with walkable Civil War trails located in Munford and surrounding areas. Munford is located in Tipton County which is also the birthplace of actor/musician Isaac Hayes. Many people love living here!

There is a lot of history in my little town. The Town of Munford can trace its origins to the early 1850’s when the Mt. Zion Methodist Episcopal Church moved to the current site of the Bethel Church of God in Christ Church in downtown Munford (at the time it was owned by the Munford Presbyterian Church.) Soon afterward, a small, unplanned village grew up around the growing Methodist church that would officially be named “Mt. Zion” after the Post Office opened there in 1856.
