Someone moving to Skokie should consider the ease of access to the city. Even though we are technically two towns over from Chicago, it is approximately a 30-45 minute drive to downtown (depending on traffic, of course). There are also many modes of public transportation that are affordable, and can be accessed virtually anywhere in the greater North Shore area.

Skokie is a wonderful city choice for someone who prefers the quieter life of the suburbs, while still wanting to enjoy the proximity to the amenities a city like Chicago provides. Sitting less than an hour away via El train, Chicago is very accessible, but living in Skokie allows those who prefer less hustle and bustle a more comfortable place. Situated not far from the airport and boasting just about any shop or restaurant you could want, Skokie is a great place!
