Ipoh has been ranked as one of the best places to move to when you retire. The city is just the right size (at just slightly over 1 million people) which means while it’s not as busy as large metropolitans, it’s also not too boring like a small town or village. However, it’s important to note that you do need to drive around the city to get around – public transport is not as developed here. You might want to consider an international driving license!

Ipoh is between Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia’s capital) and Penang. You can expect the tourist crowd to visit this city on the weekends. For transportation, you will need a car as public transportation is unreliable. However, if owning a car is not an option, there are rideshares available when you move to this city.

People should know by moving to my city it means slow traffic, albeit having terrific dishes. It’s also a calm city and people are often seen conversing with one another. Despite being in a state that requires you to understand the accent, our city is less stricter when it comes to accent.
