Cheltenham is a Regency town with many fine listed buildings. Cheltenham celebrates culture in several ways: including literature and music festivals, plus it is also famous for hosting the Gold Cup. There is always plenty to do and see, therefore, and if you like quieter spaces then there are many lovely parks where you can wander at will.

Cheltenham is known for being a popular watering-hole during the 1700s. Every fashionable person in society visited the town, notably King George III. Genteel visitors would drink the spa water for their health – though I have tried it, and it’s disgusting. Not surprising, then, that Cheltenham fell out of favour as a spa town in the Victorian era.

Cheltenham is a beautiful Cotswold town full of Regency architecture, 1,000s of trees, a quality shopping experience and countless opportunities for eating and drinking. If you are lover of Festivals then Cheltenham is spoilt for choice. From Horse Racing, Jazz, Literature and Science, there is something for everyone. The Cotswolds countryside is minutes away by car.

Someone who wanted to move to Cheltenham should know the house prices are more expensive than most parts of England. I would also recommend someone moving to Cheltenham if they don’t mind wet or cloudy weather, as it rains often. However, there is a great selection of bars and restaurants which makes Cheltenham a great place to socialise.
