In recent years, the downtown of Montgomery has been undergoing renovation as a sort of repentance, with the hope of creating a family-friendly environment where a slave auction once stood.
Montgomery, AL is known for the birth of the Civil Rights Movement. It is a growing city that still feels like a small town. The downtown has several popular restaurants and is just a quick walk to the riverfront. In the evening the riverfront is a beautiful place to watch the sunset.
