If you are considering moving to Yonkers, you should know that it is very close (less than a 20-minute drive) to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the ocean. It is relatively affordable, compared to NYC boroughs, but it is still connected to Manhattan via the Metro North rail line. It is also close to the Catskills and has magnificent foliage in the fall.

There are many potholes in Yonkers. The streets have been poorly looked after these past few years. Construction work and repair have been ongoing in the state of New York, despite this many cities are lined with potholes. The city needs work.

Yonkers is a city just north of New York City that has both urban and suburban areas It is on the banks of the Hudson River, and has great views of the Palisades on the opposite shore in New Jersey. Its other principal river, the Saw Mill, has recently been daylighted and is a great place to watch wildlife, including carp, ducks, turtles, and muskrat.
