Vermillion is a friendly, small community on the banks of the Vermillion River with old houses and picturesque farms. Streets are mostly gravel and not well-maintained. There is a school district office, a bank, a small library, and a little pub in town, but no grocery stores or other services. However, many other communities with groceries and other services are within ten miles. There are inconveniences associated with living here, but the quiet, restful beauty is a draw for those who are tired of city living.
