Vasai West is a better place to live than Vasai East, as Vasai East is more of an industrial area.

Vasai is famous for many things of the past. It still has villages and fort. They have fisherman community thriving since the Portuguese era. It is has district court located near Portuguese Fort. Peaceful people, beaches and greenery. Many weekend getaways in an hours drive from the city center. The place is rich with people from all walks of life and community background. The place is divided into three parts Vasai East which is industrial, Vasai west- commercial and residential and Vasai Gaon which has ports and bungalows of native people of Vasai. Natives of Vasai are also called vasaikar in local language. The local language is Marathi. It is has now become the satellite city with own municipality and all the state of the art services for one to live a comfortable and relaxed life way from crowd of the city.

If you are contemplating moving to Vasai, consider whether you like humid weather. It is a town that is humid throughout the year, and situated quite close to the shoreline. Because of the high humidity, many people who are unused to such climate, find it uncomfortable to live for a long period of time.

Someone moving to Vasai must know, that although it is classified as a city, it is still very much in development. While the people of my city do have most amenities that city-folk in general do, not all of them are up to the latest standards. However, that is not to say that the stay will not be pleasant, provided that the stay is intended to be a long one.
