The village of Vacherie, Louisiana, is a farming/industrial community on the west bank of the Mississippi River. Halfway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, this community offers the benefits of country life with city life less than an hour away. The locals are friendly with many unique local Cajun traditions.
Between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Vacherie is a small town on the banks of the Mississippi River. The sugar cane industry plays a major role in the local economy. Many locals work in the oil and gas industry and at the industrial plants along the river. Three beautiful plantation homes are open to the public and draw visitors from all over the world.
