Uttarpara is a small city. It has Uttarpara JayKrishna Public Library. Which is established in 1859. This city is near to Kolkata and there is a good transport communication between my city and Kolkata. There are good schools in our city for First to twelfth standard. There are more than five river ghats are there in our city beside which river Ganges flows.
Uttarpara is a city and a municipality of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is along the Ganges river, across from the Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Uttarpara is home to the Uttarpara JayKrishna Public Library, Asia’s oldest free public library. Uttarpara has a rich cultural heritage. The town once boasted of sylvan peace, beautiful buildings, epitome of great architectural works and steeped in cultural heritage. Bengali poet Michael Madhusudan Dutt spent his last days in Uttarpara JayKrishna Library.
