When moving here, first, know how to speak the local dialect in order for you to communicate with them and understand them. Second, you have to know the main way of living is farming. And lastly, people love to feasting when harvest comes, wherein they celebrate of their harvests.
Umingan is an agricultural municipality where most people work as farmer. Majority of them are rice planters. This rural area is the “Squash Capital” of Pangasinan. People are friendly and hospitable especially to the tourists who are visiting different beautiful spots in this town like the “Diket Falls” in Barangay Diket and “The Mini Chocolate Hills” in Barangay Ricos.
