My city is known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. A festival to celebrate that is done every year. The cost of living is not too high. You can buy seafood at a relatively low price compared to the markets in Davao City and Metro Manila. I am currently renting a house here for an affordable price.

The city where I live in is known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. This is where you will find the biggest fish port in the country. Every first week of September, Tuna Festival is being celebrated, where lots of tourists came to celebrate with the locals. There are different competitions that are participated by the different schools in the the city.

My city is located in southern Mindanao. It is called “The Tuna Capital”, because our main industry is fishing. We have lots of tuna in our fish port ranging from small to biggest sizes. Also we have a lot of processing plants here in our city – processing canned tuna to be exported worldwide.

General Santos City or GENSAN is known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, as it is their main export. So much so that where everywhere else in the country tuna is expensive or hard to come by, the city is practically swimming in it. Also, General Santos City is one of the rising cities in the Philippines, about to become a Metropolitan City.

General Santos is a relatively laid-back city of 500,000. It is a melting pot of traditions and culture in southern Mindanao. My first impression of the city was humid and dusty. However, I was taken aback by its stunning beaches, sprawling fishing industry, and scenic destinations in its periphery. Little known to tourists are the city’s delectable mix of traditional and street food. One simply cannot miss visiting the fishport complex, known for affordable and high-grade tuna, and taking a bite of the popular pastil.
