If you are moving to Thika, Kenya you will need to first visit Nairobi then drive 42 km to arrive at Thika. It’s a less congested city, very peaceful.

My city is Thika, it is in an urban metropolitan setting.Most buildings in my city are storeyed. As a result of the modern setting most people prefer to live in apartment buildings as compared to building their own homes.The people in my city are of mixed descent hence it is rare to find people communicating in their native language.

Thika town is in Kiambu county. It is an industrial hub and home to over 200,000 people. Located east of the country’s capital city. It is separated from Nairobi by a road that is 42 kilometers long. it sits at the confluence of Thika and Chania rivers.

Thika is an industrial town in Kiambu, Kenya. The word ‘thika’ means to ‘bury’. It was the place where freedom fighters were buried during the colonial period by the colonial government. Apart from that, Thika is also an agricultural town produce pineapples which has led to the establishment of Delmonte’ juice pineapple processing company.

Thika is about 40 kilometers from the Nairobi and 60 kilometre from fourteen falls. It is in a fruit growing area mainly pineapples. Thika is also one of the best industrial city. Different manufacturing companies are located here. Some of the learning institute in Thika include Thika Training Institute and Mount Kenya University.

The town is best known for the production of pineapples. It is on the Thika Super Highway and is one of the fast growing towns. The Governor is James Nyoro. It also has some nice scenery like the famous 14 Falls which is a nice tourist attraction for people who want to visit Thika Town.

The city is very brimming with diverse cultures, ranging from natives to Asians. it is a mostly urban town with many people conducting different jobs. If one wants to get around the city easily the best way is through public transport via buses or vans called “Matatus” or “Manyangas”, these vehicles ferry people in a most efficient manner.

Be ready for the high cost of living in Thika, Kenya. The city is close to the capital city, Nairobi, and when compared to other cities in the country of its size, Thika is fairly expensive. Thika is also a very sunny city. Unless it is during the rainy season, you should expect a hot, sunny day in Thika.
